Final Silent Two

This second final cut is a compilation of some of the artistry and environments we encountered on our journey through the Midwest. There is a slight narrative with the ceiling tile in the beginning that has to do with freedom. Check it out below.

Final Silent One

This is the first silent film cut. It encompasses pictures that create motion. I tried to get a rhythm going in the pictures to be more pleasing. The shots that I chose show the fire that burns when attending a punk show. Mosh pitting and Sorry About Your Couch (The band) have been included for your viewing pleasure.

Rough Sketch Five

This cut is of the other venue we played at in Illinois. This one was the Swing State and it was very near Gurnee. The venue was beautiful, the people were awesome, and the bands were great. There were tiles painted on the ceiling and pictures on the walls. We were going to burn a couch (Sorry About Your Couch) but the guy who was planning it passed out drunk.

Rough Sketch Four

This is rough cut four and for this cut I chose to show the emotions of the people involved. This includes both the public and the bands. Through-out the tour emotions ran high and there was a lot of stress going day to day. These pictures show the how the troubles of travel disappear when the show is on.

Rough Sketch Three

We had a show in Illinois that was canceled. The bands ended up playing at the house of a member in Gutter Star. It was better than we thought it would be and this is a panoramic shot of the basement.

Rough Sketch Two

This second cut is of the venue when we played in Ypsilanti, Michigan. It was a great bar to play at...if we had more than 20 people. Overall, the venue itself was very nice.

Rough Sketch One

In this first sketch I wanted to play with motion using still images. At the Subculture in Pennsylvania I shot several images of a group mosh pitting on the floor. The rule was that there was no moshing allowed but we are punks and we have no rules.

Map?! Who needs a map?

This is the map of the towns we were in while on this tour. The map spans across several states and includes the city and address of the venues.

The real thing can be found right in this little hyper linked file here------> !!!!!!!!

Break Strategies

Over Spring Break I had a opportunity to travel with a band on tour in the Midwest. We had shows booked in Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania.

The strategies I used to capture pictures on the trip are many, but I am only going to focus on two.

-The Emotion of the two bands, Sorry About Your Couch and Kick Your Kids, while on stage.
-The surroundings we faced throughout the tour, venues and cityscape alike.

These are the strategies I will focus on! Huzzah!!
